Re: Jags 2010
she might be around 6", kind of hard to measure her in the water, they sure look smaller than that in the 6 foot tank

Great shots Jeff
Are the catfish in that tank? If so, are they showing any interest in the spawn?

Re: Jags 2010
They won't let the catfish near them, the cats are staying near the other end of the tank unless I put some food in there, but they won't get near the eggs. I'm sure they might sneak a few when the fry start to swim around.

Re: Jags 2010
think a few more eggs died, they're not taking out the bad ones and a clump has fungused over. But you can see the makings of some fry inside the good eggs

Re: Jags 2010
fry are "hatching", both parents are moving the wrigglers to pile just behind the rock
can't get a decent shot from the refraction of the tank trying to shoot at an angle

Re: Jags 2010
so much gravel stacked in the corner I can't get a good angle on the fry, managed to get one wriggler just after she spit him out

Re: Jags 2010
they've moved the fry twice, since then, the first move was into a hole between some rocks, then right back to the same spot as before The female makes a good thud when she rams the 5/8" glass, the devils will flare up before they attack, these guys just go for the kill, then back to the fry.
I've had bad luck lately just driving fish 30 minutes away to the LFS, I'd be afraid to ship anything
