Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
I don't have time or motivation to fool with them anymore. I second guessed myself when I bought them, but I got them anyhow. I currently have 20-25 of them, hard to get an exact count. Started with 34, but had some casualties after my move. I'm gonna guess closer to 25, but 20 minimum. They are all between 1 and 1.5 inch fry. I can ship if you want, but you assume the risk.
175.00 picked up... plus actual shipping
Pics coming tonight when I get home from work or tomorrow morning.
PS.. Mike, don't be too angry with me haha

That's terrible, Dook. I hope you can figure out what's happening. Sorry for the loss.

What's going on? What kind of symptoms are you seeing? How are they acting?

Sorry to hear this Dook! I don´t think it´s bloat, because that is a slow killer. This is happening way to fast. Check the water.

Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
damn man, that is a bummer!!! I wish I could help. That's the classic horror story with trophs, one goes down and the rest fall like dominoes. Really bummed for ya man, I know it's gotta suck terribly.
Are they eating?

Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
That does blow. Very strange it would happen that quickly. Sounds like something bad got in the water.
Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
tested the water... nothing out of the ordinary with nitrite, ammonia, nitrate, PH, chlorine, etc...
if something is taking them out, it's not something I can test for and wouldn't have a clue where to start...
only thing I can think I did differently was water change before it all started, I base dosed the water for the entire tank volume with Prime... date on the prime says it's good... may not be though... another 2 went down around noon... I'm considering putting them all down... they are floating near the bottom fluttering fins. I tried food just to see, none wanted any part.
No poop at all coming from any of them. they seem to turn brown and eyes turn black right before they go.
I can tell you one thing, this will be the last Tropheus I do for quite some time. After spending all the money and watching them go like this has soured me sufficiently for a while.

Call your local water company to see if they're doing anything different or if the recently did pipe work in your area.

already done... no new chemicals, no work on my branch within the last week...
on another note, all my SA/CA tanks are doing fine with the same water. Only difference is I use API water conditioner on them and the prime for the tropheus... thought that was safer for a more delicate fish... guess I was wrong

Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
on another note, I have them in a tank with texas holey. I've noticed small, hairy pink bubble orbs attaching themselves to the rock. No clue on diagnosis, I've search far and wide to see if that is part of this problem (can't imagine it's not)

Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
after I pulled the passed fish, did my water change, the remaining 10 or so seem to be slightly more active than have been in the last few days... we'll see if maybe I saved some...

Re: Tropheus Duboisi Maswa
I'm not worried about me... I'm an adult, no big deal. The whole reason we got this Troph was because of their polka dot juvenile appearance and my daughter Jaden loved them. They haven't even made it to changing yet. She is pretty upset.
