They're spawning again, eggs are behind the log again, got about half of the juvies out so far, but it's taken about 5 days.

Congrats on the new spawn! The juvies look awesome. Man, it almost looks like they are smiling. That´s really cool.

That's great news Jeff!!! Whatcha gonna do with all the juvies? How many did you end up with?

Sending them to a few LFS, think there's around 50. I still never got them all out of the tank, I think they ate the new fry, or else the mom did. The male was guarding the eggs till yesterday and they female took over, this morning there's no sign of eggs or fry unless there's a secret pocket in a log somewhere else.

Hopefully she moved them...

I don't really need more fry right now anyway, but i managed to catch one more juvie, 20 more to go Don't know if i'll ever get them all

Got a new lens, slightly used, but half price, a local photographer was closing her studio and moving back to California, she was selling everything.
Canon's cheapest lens, 50mm F1.8, it weighs barely over 1/4 pound, feels like a plastic toy, but it's the sharpest thing I've got Wished I'd gotten one a long time ago.
Couple quick shots, can't wait to try this thing out with the gutter flashes.

I've been trying for the last 2 days!!! The jags are hangin at the back of the tank, and the male devil stirs all the gravel up whenever I get near the tank. Got a bunch of blurry, dark, or totally white fish and flying poop shots. Even the juvie shots ain't workin! GEEZ!

lol i just stared at the screen and was thinking the nothign was a caption and my pc was slow but now i read it lol wow im slow and man thats rough

Fill the tank
Add an extra 5 gallon bucket of water to keep from topping off before the next WC

Drag out the rain gutter flash
plug it in
go get the camera
oops, wire's hanging in front of the tank, can't have that.
Get up go move the wire out of the way

Unplug it
Throw camera on the couch as I run like a bat outta hell to the breaker panel
Uhm, no not that one, hmmm, lalala, ooh there it is!
Tooo late, sump flooded!

Little bits of plumbing growth flying all over the tank now
Take the flash apart, wire pulled out of one of the light sockets, fix it later
Grab a regular flash and hook up the wireless doohickey to it, clamp it to the tank
Fish are scared silly and won't come out
Go get the telephoto lens and stand wayyy back
Take a few shots of the few fish that actually come out








Don't know how this little guy's made it so long, nobody messes with him.
