Fahaka Puffer

This is Beeker. Unlike most fahaka's he allows others to live in his tank. Right now there are 2 white convicts, 2 Cutteri and 2 red tail borlei (sp) living with him. In the past he has decided to take several large triangle chucks out of his tank mates, but since I got him eating frozen food it hasn't been a problem. I love the irridecent eyes.

He searches for MTS in the sand by blowing it out of the way. His tank is full of craters from him blowing the sand.

Wow, he's kind of scary looking. I'd be afraid to put my hand in his tank!

He's actually pretty mellow. No need to worry unless you are a shrimp, snail or crayfish.

cool fish how big is it and how big does it get?

he's about 6", they get to 12-18". He's growing slow so I think he may top out at 12". I got him last january at 2"

Great shot of him hiding in the sand. I miss the green spotted puffers the wife used to have. The were fun to watch eat crawfish. Hers would always tear the claws off first which seemed prett smart to me.

I sold him a few weeks ago. I really didn't want to but need the tank space for fish I like more.
