Re: Lamprologus' speciosus
So I tried adding 2 young adults back to the tank that I had been growing out. The dominate male went into the shell and pulled one of the new guys out by the tail. Tried changing the layout of the whole tank to the Comps area in the middle with shells on each end. They still won't let the new guys settle in to an area with shells. Any suggestions on getting the new guys to be accepted.
If these guys were bigger they would be one of the meanest cichlids ever, lol.

Re: Lamprologus' speciosus
Cap, if rearranging the tank didn't work... it might not happen. Sounds like you've got a couple determined dominant males that don't want competition from newcomers. They are some tough lil buggers, it's a good thing they don't get any bigger or they would really do some damage in a community setup.

Re: Lamprologus' speciosus
Well I'm not sure where the 2 little guys are hiding at. Last night when I went to bed they had moved to one side with a female but I haven't seen them all day today. Hopefully they are hiding in a shell. Nicole is going to kill me if something happened to her fish.

They are really pretty when they have the purple down the sides. The used to have fry in all the shells before I moved them in with the Comps but haven't had any so far. I may move them back to a 20 long if Mike would ever get his mbuna fry out of one.
