Re: Major Issue with my 125gallon tank :(
I too am glad so many of them made it through.
Your misfortune is a message for us all Chris. We take for granted that things will always be the same when we turn on the spigot for our water. I definantly will pay closer attention to the water bills. If the provider is going to make changes there should be something about it in the letter.
Also, if you have plumbing work done to your supply lines it would be a good idea to skip the water changes for a week or so untill any foriegn material is flushed out of the lines. This would also include waterline work done at the street level. A healthy aquarium should make it through without a problem.
Again, sorry for your loss and thank you for posting.

Something else that can happen -- the fire department flushing the hydrant in front of your house, and not notifying you! Those of you from Madness might remember when I turned on my faucet and this is what came out! Fortunately, I could see that this water was not suitable for water changes or anything else! Just wished they had told us they were going to do it.

Chris,
I use stress coat for stress.
In a dire strait I will use it for water changes.
I use Prime for water changes. It has what you need for the strong chemicals they put in tap water these days.
In my opinion Prime and NovAqua Plus are the best on the market.
It is very good and goes farther than stuff like Stress Coat.
