snails Empty snails

so as you know i found a snail and was pretty happy but the other day i saw two and they were locked together at their feet idk if they were fighting but i think it was breeding then the next few days one was on top the others shell all day will these guys ruin the tank with allot of baby snails?

depends on how much you like snails Very Happy
I have a tank just to grow snails as feeders, but my canisters seem to work just as good

oh ok so they wont kill any thing? and im sure discus would like them when they get here and the 2 are doing a good job of cleaning the diatoms but they arent doing to much but hey its only 2 snails in one tank lol

2 can turn to hundreds in a few months if it's the kind I have, I forgot the Id on them. Not sure if discus will eat them, but if they leave the plants alone then they might be alright. But it's easier to get them out now before they have eggs everywhere if you don't want them.

i like them but they are small brown ones i have a pick in on of my threads about my 40 breeder but i havent seen them on the plants and my plants are doing fine since i have noticed them so i guess hundreds would just be annoying

The nice thing about snails, if there is a nice thing, is that you can pick them out if the numbers get high. I had them in a tropical tank and they did eventually start to destroy my plant so I just spent 20 minutes with my arm in the tank and picked out a lot of them. You may have to do that once in a while if the numbers get way up.

I tried a clown loach in my tropical tank. It was supposed to eat them but I can't say for sure that it ever ate one. I suppose a clown loach would get ripped up pretty bad by cichlids though.

i only get them in my fry holding tank the bigger haps and peas have always ate them

I had 2 snails that i thought they were breeding but they never had any babies. I thought it would have been cool.

wow you got lucky shoot im sure i only started out with 2 and boom now im at like 35 but the firemouth i have in there in recovery is eating them all like a champ
