sand sifting starfish
dont see this guy too often... he spends about 90 something percent of his life under the sand. got a few shots from looking down onto the tank.

Cool series of pics! Maybe he thinks it´s to hard to be a star with all the paparazzi around . Cool starfish though.

Chris, how do you make sure that these elusive creatures are getting enough to eat? Are some of them nocturnal?

how big do those get chris? i love star fish but most eat corals...lol

this guy isnt going to get much bigger... totally reef safe starfish... i have him just cuz he spends his life moving under the sand so he turns it over and doesnt let it compact down or collect to much particulate... very beneficial...
oh and betty, it feeds off all the "stuff" in the sand

eh... i would say yes... however u can always find them at a very small size (like a quarter) and grow em out.
