Nice!! I like the background. Is that concrete on styrofoam?

I like the look of the vases too. I have a couple of small vases that look just like those -- I bet my julies would make good use of them...
You've got two or three fish in there that look like real bruisers. Is that Kenyi the tank boss?

Yes, the background is cememnt over styrofoam. I wantd to try something different and wanted to get away from actual rocks to save weight (and from fear of another collapse) and gave it a try. It took MUCH longer to do than I anticipated, but they seem to be happy with the recesses and tunels that I have provided for them
The Kenyi in there looks like a bruiser, but she is probably the most docile fish in there, only coming out of her pot to eat... I just hope she doesnt grow too big and get stuck in there...
The boss is the guy in the second pic; yawning in the third, and appearing in almost all of the others (I don't even know what type he is...). I'm baffled because when I got him, he was barred light brown and bronze. Now he changes colors almost daily from blue with bronze highlights to turning his darker bars almost black, and getting rid of the bronze altogether... I was hoping someone could help me identify him He is the guy in the first 3 pics of the following thread.

There are still more fish that I had planned on putting in there, but I think I will only add 3 of them (another Venustus, a docile Crabro, and the Albino that I had asked advice on reintroducing in another thread). Maybe I'll go to the LFS that has some peacocks, Rusties, and Red Top Hongi that come out of quarrantine tomorrow (I wonder if they will trade me for a vicious male Kenyi, a bastard Crabro, and a psychotic OB/BB zebra... One can hope!).

I tried keeping Hongi, the ones I had were viscious creatures, pretty to look at , but so much
of a pain, I sold them all, just my experience, your mileage may vary.

Nice, but you should stop feeding them for a while. They look a little overweight .

Re: New pics of my 55
They look nice and well colored. And you can definitely tell which ones are the fastest to the food. Several of them look like they could use a bit of a diet.
I only feed mine what they can eat in about 30 seconds, twice a day. In my opinion, the recommended amount to feed on the food labels is usually way too much.
Thanks for posting the pics. I like that dark crabro!

yeah, it's hard to make sure everyone in the tank eats without overfeeding the gluttons... They are going on an 'every other day' diet for now...

It's hard when they act like they are starving every time they see you, but it's good for them in the long run. You could also feed a smaller amount of food if you don't want to skip days.

I decided to continue feeding daily, but cut their food in half... It's tricky though to make sure everyone eats, but you're right, they are too fat.
