Mixed Malawi
Very generic fish...but my options are limited out here in the boonies. I'm looking forward to stocking a 125 gallon tank very soon! Enjoy a few shots of my fish past and present.

Re: Mixed Malawi
Thanks! The Empress are my favorite! The male just has the most amazing colors and the females add a nice silver shine to the tank.

I love the generic fish. I have lots of them too.
Your venustus is a nice-looking one. I like the empress too! Nice selection of fish for the boonies.

Great looking fish. At least it looks like you have good quality fish even though selection is limited.

Here is the current adult tank... 75 gallon mixed Malawi.
(dont mind the cardboard hood... In the process of building a real one!
And the 30 gallon planted/fry/grow-out/feeder tank...

Re: Mixed Malawi
Tanks are looking good, Emma. Is that an anubius in the center of the planted tank? It looks great.

Re: Mixed Malawi
Yes its an Anubius, when I got it only had 2 leaves now it sprouts a new one about ever 3 to 4 weeks. It looks like it might want to flower? Its not a leaf... or its trying a new way of leafing out. lol
I really like the red empress, both male and female.
Yeah I had to take Ven. out, he killed my Red Empress male. I'm still waiting on my 125 tank to cycle so I can get some more fish.

Re: Mixed Malawi
So far so good we will see what time will bring. As of now the Socolofi is tank boss, but the Auratus has a way to go before he is full grown.

Re: Mixed Malawi
Love the Melanochromis Auratus. I´ve had them several times over the years. One of the toughest mbuna I think. A cichlid that does´nt work at all with other horizontal stripped mbuna. I learned that the hard way the first time I had them, but it´s an old favorite that I will keep again for sure.

Yup Red Empress is holding again... dont have a place for the fry so we will see what happens in the big tank. If she is getting to harassed I will strip her.
