What I brought home from the fish auction..... Empty What I brought home from the fish auction.....

Post by football mom Sun Oct 03, 2010 11:48 pm

Well... I was up at 0500 this morning bagging fish, drove like a maniac for 2 and a half hours and made it to the auction with time to spare.
Number One Son accompanied me, but since he didn't make it home till 0600, he snore the whole way there.....
Anyway, the auction was great. I sold $184.00, the club gets 20%, so I cleared $138.00.
I bought $124.00 worth, some were fish I have desired for a while (TANGS, Mike and Klaus!) and some were simply impulse buys because the bidding
was so low this time.
Mind you, some of these fish were very small....

8 P. acei Ngara whitetail (wanted)
8 Cyno afra Cobwe (impulse buy, don't know where they will go!)
4 Lepidolamprologus hequi (impulse, but I'm on a Tang kick)
3 P. pundamillia Hippo Point Blue Bar (impulse)
3 spiral horned nerite snails (cool-looking)
3 Lamprologus callipterus (impulse, but they are in the Tang square with all the multis)
3 A. calvus white Chaitika (small, but coveted for a long time)
1 java fern plant
1 Indian red sword plant
1 package Dainichi food
2 OB Peacocks (a pair, I'll keep the female, and sell the male at LFS, since my male is nicer, lol)
4 A. calvus Zaire black (small, but again, coveted, lol)
5 Thrysochromis ansogii (impulse...a West African riverine species, they were $5.00, what the heck!)
3 marble crayfish (my son wanted them)

So, not a bad haul for my money, what do you guys think?

And I got so meet some nice folks, and I got compliments on my fish, too.

Nice haul!!! Very Happy

I was thinking about getting a group of Hippo Point Blue bar last time I was at our Chicago swap, but I had to hold myself back.

Wow, that's a lot of fish for what you paid! We'll need pictures, you know.

I got some of these last month too. They are really tiny now, but I'm happy. Smile

I have been tempted to get some the white tailed aceis to go with my white lab quad, but have yet to do it.

The calvus are really small, but at least you can tell what they are, unlike like my
comp babies, when I got them you had no idea that they were comps! They are bigger now, and DO look like what they are supposed to look like,.
The acei are REALLY small, out of the 8, two or three of them are quite dark already, so maybe I got a good ratio of males and females.
