Altolamprologus calvus "white Chaitika"
I picked up five of these back in September. They are small 1 - 1.25 inches, so they have a lot of growing to do. They are always darting around and very hard to take pictures of!

A few new pictures. They don't look much different, but they are growing, slowly.

Re: Altolamprologus calvus "white Chaitika"
A little update: I think I might have two males and three females.
Do they look any bigger? It doesn't seem like they are growing at all, but looking back at the pictures, they look more mature to me.
Probable male #1.
And male #2.
Maybe (hopeful) females. I'm thinking they are females because they are allowed into the territories of the two I think are males and they are smaller in size.

Great shots and lovely looking calvus! I agree that they look more and more like adults when it comes to the body shape. It must be tough for species like this to survive in the wild when they are so slow growing.

I think the rocks have similar coloring and markings.

Nothing new -- they still look the same. 50% weekly water changes and plenty of food, but not much growth.

Very very nice! Do you clean the rocks? Never any algae in this tank.

Re: Altolamprologus calvus "white Chaitika"
Thanks. I have a small bristlenose pleco in this tank that does a pretty good job on the algae.
I did try white sand for awhile to see if the fish would lighten up their color, but it developed a terrible algae of some sort that the pleco wouldn't touch. It only grew on the sand.

The biggest fish has had some brownish spots on him that I don't remember seeing before, but it doesn't seem to affect him at all. I hope it isn't a problem. It's one of those things that is so hard to research and find a clear answer about.
