Comps spawned Empty Comps spawned

Well, that pair of comps I got from Capt. Micheal (that bred like rabbits for him!) finally spawned again. For me
I had one spawn that eggs didn't hatch, one spawn where the fry died after 2 days, and yesterday during water change time we spotted some very tiny fry. I managed to siphon out some of them before there dad ate them, he
was picking them off even as I was trying to rescue them, and biting my hands and the siphon hose, too.
They are in a breeder box and they were still alive this morning, I hope they are still alive when I get home.

Well, the little comp fry were so tiny I had to put the breeder box inside a knee-hi panty
hose to keep them from slipping through the opening in the box, lol! But they are still
swimming and active this morning.
The BAD NEWS is: I was so focused on getting the fry situated that I missed adding Prime
to one of the tanks, and I came in to find my entire multi colony belly-up! ARRGH!! arghhh
I guess it was lucky I had thinned out the colony somewhat and sold some at the last auction, at least those are still alive somewhere!

Wow, sorry to hear that J! Do you have chloramine in the tapwater? If that is the case you can use a carbon (charcoal) filter that you connect to the tap while you are doing a wc. They are a cheap way to protect your fish. Klaus had a system like that in his fishroom.

As far as I know, we have both Chloramine and Chlorine. Prime has always worked just fine for me, you just have to remember to use it!!

Well, got the little comps moved into a 5 gallon with a sponge filter. I lost about 5
of them yesterday, they were DOA when I got in from work. Maybe they were just to
fragile to handle the transfer.
They are so tiny, they
look like little tan colored splinters...lol. I can only just keep what I am doing and hope they make it.
My jewel fry are growing like weeds, though! There are a few of them that are like
3 times the size of the others. I guess they are just quicker to the food.
