Rescaped my Terror tank
90g Currently houses 4 male Green Terrors, a 12 inch Pleco, a 6 inch pleco, 1 breeding pair of convicts, and because i get talked into random things by my daughter.... 5 tinfoil barbs
The terrors all get along (strangely) at 5-6 inches all of them. They will be staying (or at least one of them), along with the Plecos and I'll be adding the Oscars when they get too big for the other tank they are in until they outgrow the 90g as well, at which time the terror(s) will get new tankmates.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
it's pool filter sand. I mixed some small gravel in before I put anything in. 100 pounds of sand to probably 5 pounds of gravel.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
for some reason I'm having trouble with cloudy water in this tank... no clue why. It has never fully clouded up and I can't for the life of me figure out why. All the water parameters seem correct, I used an existing bunch of media when I started the new fluval 405. I am wondering if maybe the sponges in the canister aren't getting all the fine material, so when I do the filter next time around I'm going to put biomax in the very bottom and cram it full of quilt batting.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
You have to get them at the source. What is your filtration? Most of the time the bubbles are temporary while a system gets the air out, but it can take a few days. If they go on a long time, you probably have a leak on the intake side of the equation (otherwise wet floors would be more of a problem than bubbles, ha) or you have something creating cavitation/air bubbles blowing IN to the intake side.
Was I any help?

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
The bubbles are coming from the bubble walls I have at thr rear of the tank. The return water is pointed across their path of movement and the current is drawing them down. Its an easy fix once I get the time to fool with it.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
had some new wood soaking in a salt water solution for the last week or so... they were ready, so last night I dove in again... like this much better... looks more natural. I have some of the wood coming down into the water like it would from an overhanging tree.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
thanks... also, the Tinfoils made their way into our outside pond... fairly sure the small mouth made quick work of them however as I watched them swim from the dock toward the center and about 30 seconds later.... ANARCHY

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
that's funny...
I have much love for fish in general. Now that I've got my Troph colony, think that'll do me on the African front for a while. For some reason the central and south american guys just have more personality to me, although, I do love my Tropheus.

Re: Rescaped my Terror tank
Dook, don't think that.
Our fronts eat from my wifes hand and are very friendly.
She has a Acei that helps when she kills the snails in his tank.
It just takes a little more of your time.
