Re: Tropheus fry
These fish are now my pets and I will do whatever needs to be done to keep them alive and happy. They are of various ages.

Re: Tropheus fry
Rereading my post above, it sounds a bit abrupt.
I get what you are saying, James, but I'm not going to demand money back and will keep these trophs. I don't think he was trying to pawn off a bunch of sick fish on me. The Aquarium society that we belong to has an email forum, so one email from anyone who is wronged by another member will go out to every member of the society. I think that's a big deterrent that keeps people pretty honest.

Your trophs are awesome Betty. Hopefully after the rocky start up, things will now go much better for you.
The Cherry Spots are one of my favorites. Good luck and hoping you have lots of new fry!

Re: Tropheus fry
I have an opportunity to purchase some Eretmodus cyanostictus in a group buy. They are 1.25 inches. I'm tempted, but I'm also afraid of introducing anything new to the tank now that things seem to have settled with the trophs. At that small of a size, do you think adding new fish would cause a problem?buntbarsch wrote:The Swede is right Betty, some Eretmodus cyanostictus would go perfectly with your 19 Tropheus. Just 3 or 4 of them will be great. I would stay away from the Tanganicodus irsacae though. They are absolute beasts and a 75g would not be big enough even for only two of them.
There are also some small cherry spots available, but the trophs seem to have adjusted with the 14 (plus 3 fry) that I have left, so I don't think I need to add more of those? I had been worried about aggression, but they seem to have come to an understanding. The most dominant male controls half of the tank allowing one female in and the other 13 live on the other half with the occasional excursion to the other side.

Re: Tropheus fry
Betty, I am so glad that you fell in love with your new Tropheus. They sure are amazing fish and it is good to hear that your group is doing well. The addition of a few Eretmodus will not disturb your group anymore and I think it would be a nice addition to the tank. However, I agree with you not to add anymore cherry spots. You now have established a harmonizing group which might be interrupted by adding any more.
Re: Tropheus fry
Okay, thank you Klaus. The gobies are such interesting fish, I might go ahead and order some. I'll let you know what I decide.

Aura - definitely interested in seeing how those gobies do if you decide to order them. Last day to place the order is tomorrow, I believe. Do you know when we're supposed to pick them up?

Get em Betty, you'll love em. I put 4 in with my trophs and they were a great addition. I'm hoping for a pair to form but no luck yet. My trophs weren't bothered a bit by the addition of the gobies, hope you have the same experience
