Majano anemones

Well, I haven't seen any majano anemones on the rocks still in the tank. I think they would have moved up to ward the light by now if they were there.
Now, the question is... have the other two rocks been in the sun long enough to kill the majanos off?
I know I'll have to start my tank cycle over, but those rocks are shaped really cool, and I don't want to just throw them away.

The two rocks have been sitting on top of the fence in the hot sun/torrential ralns for a week now.
Could I put them in a tub of salt water with a filter on it, and initiate the
"curing" process, instead of putting them back in my tank and having my tank cycle?

yes u can, just be sure to test the water til the NH3 drops.

HOB will work fine, i cure rock in an old scratched up 65 gal. all i have on there is a ac110 with some sponge, and a koralia 4 for circulation.

u can also speed up the cycle by using a bio booster. ive had success with seachems stability, however brightwell has a new product "micro bacter7", u can use it for fresh or salt and it is seriously the real bio boosting deal.

I have the rocks in a non-transparent rubbermaid tub right now. Someone on HoustonFishBox said i should leave it dark, so I put the lid on the tub, loosely.
I am going in to Corpus Christi in a little bit to get some salt water, I will look for one of those bio-boosters.
Another question.... The algae growing on the glass has now changed from
brown diatom to green... is this a good sign, or a bad one?? lol

ur tank is just becoming more established... most salty tank go through the algae phase. using R/O water and keeping levels pristine will help keep it minimal. mine was minimal, but i make sure the R/O i put in the tank is 0 TDS.

the bio booster isnt 100% needed, but i have really been digging the MicroBacter. Ive dosed it about a month now in my tank, and really helps the skimmer along, and pesty algae spots seem to be reducing.

i also cycled out the 5.5 gal shellie tank with it, literally had them in the tank 3 hours after i set it up.

I couldn't find the Microbacter 7 in town yesterday, either I'll have to order some, or just do without.

it is but salt is awesome! it makes my cichlid tanks seem so easy!
