News from the fishroom
Three weeks ago I went to the HCCC auction in San Antonio and one of the groups of fish I bought were Cyno axelrodi, a group of 5, one of the females was holding when I bought them. As of last Friday, she was still holding, so I netted her and stripped the fry. She is a little fish, and there were 6, but they were huge! When I dropped her back in the tank, she spit another, and I lost track of it before I could net him, so I am assuming he was someone's snack, but the others are doing fine in a 5 gallon. I'm really liking the axelrodi, very active fish, not shy, and make use of the entire water column, instead of skulking around the rocks like many mbuna.
Yesterday I got a call from a cichlid keeping buddy in Corpus Christi, saying "Hey, I'm in San Antonio and on may way to Dave's Rare Fish, do you want any fish?"
I quickly got on the phone with Dave, and a few hours later, I picked up 3 Cyno. axelrodi females, 3 L. SRT Kimpuma females, and 1 female P. saulosi to round out the groups I already have.
As of last night, all were still swimming. I just gotta figure out how to get the saulosi and Kipumas to come out from behind the rocks! They are seriously shy.
And last, but anot least, I finally got a stand for my 12gal Eclipse, and I'm about to set up my first SW. I'll keep y'all posted on how that goes.
On the down-side, I lost two of the 4 little Pundamillia Python Island babies after a water change, not sure what happened, every one else was fine.
I've been so busy lately, no time for picture taking, but I'll try to get some soon.
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there,
Jocelyn

Happy mother's day to you. Congrats on the new fish. That's weird that your Saulosi are shy they are out and about in every tank I have put them in.
Sorry about the deaths I was hoping to see them grown up.
