A day with the fish Empty A day with the fish

Post by football mom Fri Jan 15, 2010 12:22 am

Today I cleaned canister filters, re-scaped a couple of tanks, caught some holding labs and a rusty and stripped them, got about
15 or so fry of each kind, and got them in a 15 gal, moved some more of the little Obliques to the 55 where their dad lives,
(they are SO hard to catch at this size, but the big ones just swim right into the net!) moved their moms out of that tank to the tank with the zebras, caught two little Rusties that somehow got into the multi tank and put them in with their parents, and.....
Went outside and chopped down all the dead lilies in my front flower bed that froze last weekend.
Now we are having thunderstorms, supposed to get 5 inches of rain between tonight and Saturday morning.
Think I'm ready to get my jammies on and call it a day!

WOW!!!
Jocelyn, you sound like Patty.

Bless your heart. I know how hard she works.
I can mention something I might want to do to one of the tanks.
If I leave, when I come back it is done..

You must be quite a lady too.

Stu helps me if I ask, he's gotten pretty good at helping catch elusive fish without removing all the rocks, and he's great at carrying big buckets of water back and forth, that's about all, though, except he DID give up Sunday football with his buddies to drive to SA with me to the fish auction, lol!

I think Stu's gettin hooked on the fishies and is in denial Wink

I bet he's signed up here and posting pic's of HIS new fish tank before the year is out. Tell him we're anxiously awaiting his arrival. Smile

Well, maybe, just maybe, I can get him interested in the SW tank. He has been asking me to set one up for a while.....
When my friend with 12 horses was here in Sept, he made a comment about all my fish, and she set him straight really fast about the relative expense of my hobby compared to others I could have, lol!

Maybe he just needs a big puffer tank, my wife's in love with a stars and stripes puffer at the LFS, but we can't afford another 180 and accessories to keep the thing in
