I watched them for a little while, she just scattered the eggs everywhere, they'll probably get eaten, no plants for the babies to hide in.

little vid of the wife playing with the devil, wasn't the best quality to begin with but moviemaker went to crap on me and i used a different editor to shrink the filesize.
He started out attacking her, but is letting her pet him now, still the occasional CHOMP! but after a while he calmed down and just mouthed her a little.

That's awesome Jeff!!! He sure is warming up to her.

You'll have to bring the family up here for a visit and we'll let her pet Zeke... just don't show her the attack fish vid. Laughing I keep plenty of band aids and peroxide on hand for the kids, so we'll be able to fix her up afterwards. Wink

Beautiful pictures Jeff. I love the way you use the light to get different effects. Even though I am not a big friend of red devils, I have to say that this guy looks pretty awesome.

Played with a different flash setup, still a lot of microbubbles I can't really light up the tank without it looking like a dust storm. Got some more weldon today, going to add some baffles to the sump hopefully that'll at least get rid of some bubbles.

Think the fry are swimming now, I'll see the female rush out and grab something once in a while and hurry back to her hole, but they still haven't moved them yet. Made a long eyedropper so I can inject some bbs down there.

Great shots Jeff. The red and white of the fish really stand out against the black.

Saw the fry finally after squirting some cyclopeeze in there, think the convict is trying to pick them off but the females guarding the only hole he dares to stick his head in. Tried catching the convict but there's just too many places for him to run in there. If I can get him out of there they might let the fry venture out a little more.

They look like they're doing great. It must be tough trying to get the food down in there for them.

I love these with one of the parents behind the fry. It clearly shows the difference in size. Glad you decided to post them.

After an hour I finally caught the convict, took 3 nets and a little help from the devils (they kept 1/4 of the tank off limits). About 2 hours later dad got to babysit a few of the kids. Some of them got away and will probably get sucked down my overflow, need to make some sort of guard for it. There's a heckuva lot hovering around the female but she's staying in her little hidey hole.
