pseudocrenilabrus multicolor victoriae
I picked up four of these from a local hobbyist. They are very small right now; an inch or less. The biggest one looks like it might be a male. Articles I have read say they max out at about 3.5 inches and can be kept in tanks as small as 20 gallons (long). They aren't actually from Lake Victoria, but from rivers in the Victoria area.

Awesome find Betty, not sure that I've ever seen those before.

The guy I got them from had a hard time finding them, but now he's gotten them to spawn and is willing to part with some of the fry.
The females are somewhat drab in appearance, but the adult males are nice. Not quite as pretty as the nicholsi (which I remember Klaus posting pictures of and I really liked)!

Very nice Betty! I had to look this one up. They look stunning in full color and they are actually present in Lake Victoria as well. Mostly near river mouths.

Beautiful find Betty
Keep an eye on those little ones. They start breeding at a ridicules size. The fish in the pictures below are maximum one inch. They are nicholsi but the multicolor do the same thing. It is also advantageous to have about 3 females to one male and some hiding hiding spots for the females. The males are pretty rough on the girls, especially at adulthood.

It would be great if the three smaller ones were female, but knowing my luck, they probably won't be.
They are in a 10 gallon right now since they are so small, but I'll keep an eye out. That's a great picture of the little holder. She only looks big enough for one egg.

Re: pseudocrenilabrus multicolor victoriae
Updated pictures. It turns out that at least three of the four are males and they do not get along at all. I had to split them up before I lost some.
This one's colors are more intense -- I have him in a tank with black sand. He was being beaten up pretty badly by the male in the previous pictures, but now he's turned into a big bully himself, so the other smaller male will have to be moved too. It's tough to work with aggressive fish in these smaller tanks. The guy that I got these from has more available and I'll try to trade additional males in and keep my fingers crossed for some females.

Nice! How big are they now?
Do they dig much? I'd like something small to go into my 35 gallon planted tank, but
they can't be digging up my plants! lol
I sold my A. aneocolor group because the little male was too darn mean for a 20L
and he dug up all the plants.

They are around 1.5 inches or less, I'd guess.
Mine dig a little, but nothing like the mbuna. I don't think they'd dig up plants.
I had read that they could be kept in a 20L, but from what I've experienced so far, I think that would have to be one male and a few females. These three males that I have are extremely aggressive toward each other. They might be okay in a bigger tank with more room for territory.

Re: pseudocrenilabrus multicolor victoriae
At feeding time this evening, I didn't see the smallest male (#3) of the two I moved out of the tank to get away from the dominant bully #1. I was planning to move him out to a pleco growout tank (only available space) because subdominant #2 was starting to become a bully himself and was chasing #3 around.
After much looking through the tank, I started checking around the floor and there he was. He jumped out through the only opening in the top, near the filter. I feel so bad. I wish I had moved him yesterday.

Sorry to hear about your loss...
On a good note, WOW! The colors on those are unreal! I wish I had the room to get 'one of each' but...
