New lab females

Post by football mom on Fri Sep 24, 2010 12:13 pm

You guys may remember a while back I had the "mystery" fish die-off. I lost several of my Labs, and all the O. lithobate juvies I got from
Micheal and Nicole. Well, I was down to the male lab and the big old female, and one smaller female.
I talked to "Rare Dave" in San Antonio, and today FedEx brought me two very, very nice female labs, some zebra nerite snails, and a stack of
heavy weight bags to pack fishies in to take to the auction next Sunday.
As always, the fish from Dave arrived in great condition.

I'll be curious to see how your zebras do. I picked up several nerites a few months back and lost all of the zebras. The olives are fine, but the zebras all died within a few days of each other. In one tank I had three die in the same day while the two olives went about business like nothing was wrong and continue to do fine.

I even found one walking across the living room one evening.

I bought some olive nerites at the last auction, and they seem to be doing fine.
The zebras are not where they were last night, so at least they were alive enough to crawl away. I cannot locate them, though, they must be undera the rocks. I'm thinking the tank I put them in may not have enough algae to sustain them, though,
I should probably move them if they survive.
