Love that fish, Håkan. ( Razz Mike)

Does he keep that color as tank boss or does he ever show some yellow?

Tanks Betty! That crabro male holds that color all the time. My other big male shows some yellow, but not all the time. I hope he will get as dark as this one when i move the crabros to a bigger tank this weekend.

Thanks! We have 3 more letters in our alphabet. å,ä,and ö. I have a friend in LA and it took him 3 weeks to pronounce my name right.

I hope you don't mind my fish in your topic, but I just wanted to show you my dominant male. He usually stayed mostly black with the yellow very dull, but once in a while he'd show more yellow. I like the hint of blue on yours.

Sadly, he's gone now. That picture was taken almost 4 years ago. I'm not good at estimating sizes, but I'd say he was around 5 1/2 - 6 inches. He was a big boy, but not at all aggressive.

Everybody says that crabro is a very aggressive mbuna. But mine is not either. My big male is a sort of cop in the tank. He allowes no fighting among the others.

That is exactly how mine was! He would break up every fight, usually between a greshakei and auratus, and then go about his business. I always said that he was the peacekeeper.
